On December 17th, the International Seminar on the Port State Measures Agreement was held in Shanghai. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and organized by Shanghai Ocean University, with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Representatives from FAO, France, Thailand, Chile, Morocco, Sri Lanka, as well as national and international organizations such as the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission and the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission, shared the progress of the implementation of the Agreement and the practices of various countries in fulfilling their obligations. The meeting was attended by representatives from the fisheries and fishery administration, maritime affairs, customs, immigration management departments, as well as fisheries-related universities, industry organizations, and enterprises from 11 coastal provinces (cities).
