From June 9th to 13th, the third United Nations Ocean Conference was held in Nice, France. The conference gathered participants from governments, the United Nations system, intergovernmental organizations, international financial institutions, other relevant international agencies, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions, the scientific community, the industrial sector, charitable organizations, local communities, and more. A total of 14,000 people from 175 countries and international organizations attended the conference, including 75 heads of state and government, over 30 heads of United Nations agencies, and 115 ministers. Additionally, over 100,000 people participated in various activities held outside the main venue. French President Emmanuel Macron, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, and President of the United Nations General Assembly Filipe Mona Yango delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the conference. Chinese Vice President Han Zheng attended the conference and spoke during the general debate session. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources, relevant marine research institutes under the Ministry of Natural Resources, as well as scientific research institutions and universities such as Ocean University of China, Shanghai Ocean University, East China Normal University, and Xiamen University also attended. Professor Tang Yi from the School of Marine Biological Resources and Management of Ocean University of China participated in the entire conference on behalf of the Fisheries and Fisheries Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
