Recently, the research achievement titled A global daily mesoscale front dataset from satellite observations: In situ validation and cross-dataset comparison by Professor Chen Xinjun's team from the School of Marine Biological Resources and Management at Shanghai Ocean University was officially accepted by the well-known geoscience journal Earth System Science Data (Impact Factor 11.2, Earth Science Q1). This study extended the previously developed front identification algorithm to global ocean areas, combined with global cruise observation data, systematically validated and compared the algorithm with various sea surface temperature products, and constructed a high-resolution mesoscale front dataset (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14373832). Since its public release globally in January this year, the dataset has been downloaded more than 5.0TB.
